UniMAP subscribes to MS ISO 9001 Quality Management System. We successfully obtained MS ISO 9001: 2008 certification from SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. on 16 July 2010. The scope of the UniMAP certification covers the provision of tertiary education (undergraduate), research, consultancy and publication.

While UniMAP began with the MS ISO 9001: 2008 standards, we transitioned to MS ISO 9001: 2015 (Quality Management Systems) in 2016. The MS ISO 9001: 2015 places emphasis on several quality management principles, such as:
• a strong customer focus,
• the motivation of top management,
• implication of top management,
• the involvement of everyone in the organization,
• evidence-based decision making,
• the process approach, and
• continual improvement.

The adoption of the QMS assists UniMAP to ensures the following:

1) Better management of the university’s core business to meet the demands of our clients and stakeholders, thus resulting in better outputs with regard to students, other talents, customer services and satisfaction;
2) Higher efficiency and productivity, as the running of university core procedures are done against clear processes and procedures aimed at reducing waste (time, effort, cost) and optimized use of resources;
3) Adoption of continual improvement, which compels UniMAP to explore better ways of doing things based on review processes and customer feedbacks; and
4) Enhancement of UniMAP’s position as a higher education provider with a competitive edge, thus increasing its market visibility and credibility.

UniMAP manages its QMS via a platform called eQDoc, which is accessible to all UniMAP staff.
