MINISTRY OF MINI CONVENTION COMPETITION COMPETITION AND CREATIVE GROUP (KIK) UNIVERSITY STAGE UNIVERSITY PERLIS 2015
We are pleased to announce that the UniMAP 2015 Innovative and Creative Mini Convention Convention (KIK) was successfully held on 18th December 2015 at the Innovation Laboratory, Corporate Development and Quality Management Center (PUSPEK) Seriab.
The competition was completed by 2 judges, comprising Encik Abdul Ghani Bin Fathil (Vice-Chancellor's Office) and Dr. Syed Zulkarnain Bin Syed Idrus (iKOM) and 2 observers from the Corporate and Quality Management Center (PUSPEK) namely Encik Maskor Bin Bajuri and Encik Budiman Ikhwandee Bin Fadzilah. PUSPEK has received a total of 9 entries comprising 6 of the Management Categories and 3 of the Technical Category respectively.

UniMAP Moves With KPM, Committed to Achieving Seven KPIs
Arau, January 1 - Perlis Malaysia's university (UniMAP) starts a new year with determination and determination to move in tandem with seven Ministry of Higher Education (KPI) performance indicators set by its Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh.
UniMAP vice-chancellor, Brig. Jen. Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin, in his new year's message, said in 2016 promised a huge challenge, especially by reducing the allocation of manageable expenses by seven percent.
He said the challenge this year was huge when UniMAP needed to generate more financial resources to cover operating expenses without raising student tuition fees.
On that basis, Dr. Kamarudin called on all UniMAP citizens to work together with him to change and change both the attitude, the minds, the habits and practices of working to ensure UniMAP can continue to operate and educate the nation.
"In response to changes that demand us to change positively, UniMAP is committed to promoting KPIs through initiatives that have been outlined to ensure that UniMAP's competitive culture can continue hereafter.
"It should be noted that the KPI needs to be reported to the Prime Minister whose target set requires us to make some changes by implementing fresh, efficient, effective collective new initiatives," he said.
He said this when delivering the 2016 New Year's Message to UniMAP's top management as well as administrators and lecturers at the Excellence Hall here today.
According to Dr. Kamarudin further, given that financial raising is a key focus of UniMAP, Datuk Prof. Dr. Salleh Din has been appointed as Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Sustainability) which among others is responsible for implementing comprehensive university financial activity among them through a comprehensive short-term course offering by each School in UniMAP.
In addition, Dr. Kamarudin explained that UniMAP is committed to achieving the target of 80 per cent of students getting jobs within six months of graduating from around 72 per cent this year.
He said that if previously, the matter was placed under the responsibility of the Center for Industrial and Government Cooperation (CIGC), but this year every school should have a representative or committee responsible for planning, monitoring and follow-up action.
He pointed out, the aspect of internationalization was also emphasized when UniMAP set a target of achieving 950 international students enrolling in postgraduate and postgraduate students.
"The field of research is also the focus of UniMAP so we will ensure that all Center of Excellence (COE) will be accelerated to produce more high-quality research publications as well as carefully planning research sessions for Scopus and other bodies to be utilized.
"We will also seek new sources of funding within and outside the country to fund research activities as well as win" win-win "affiliations and collaborations with universities and research institutes as well as international researchers," he said.
20 UniMAP staff Accept the Head of MS ISO 9001: 2008 Auditors
Arau, October 21 - A total of 20 Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) staffs receive the letter of appointment of MS ISO 9001: 2008 Auditor General who is internationally recognized through the United Kindom Certification Body (IRCA).
UniMAP vice-chancellor, Brig. Jen. Prof. Emeritus Dr. Kamarudin Hussin, the staff is the Industry and Quality Network coordinator (JIPK) at the School and the internal auditors of UniMAP's Strategic and Quality Management System (SPSK).
According to him, the success of all the staff is something that is proud of in strengthening the integrity and quality of administration at the center of study and university.
"All of these staff have attended the Auditor General's course which was held from 10 to 14 August and all have successfully passed the graduation results.
"I believe it was contributed primarily by the initial disclosure received through the auditor-led course organized by the Corporate Development and Quality Management Center (PUSPEK) and the invitation facilitator En. Abdul Ghani Fathil who is also UniMAP Quality Manager, "he said in a statement here today.
The Council of Jaket Ketua Auditor and the presentation of the certificate were completed by the Vice-Chancellor himself accompanied by the Assistant Vice-Chancellor of PUSPEK, Prof. Madya Abdul Aziz Mahmuddin. Also present were Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and International UniMAP, Dato 'Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal.
At the same event, UniMAP through Yayasan UniMAP also entered into a cooperation agreement with Total Organization Management Consulting (M) Sdn. Bhd. (TOM C), among others, aims to produce more strategic management trainers at UniMAP.
UniMAP is represented by the Vice-Chancellor, who is Chairman of the UniMAP Foundation, while TOM C is represented by its Director, En. Azizul Azmi Abdul Rani witnessed by Chief Operating Officer of UniMAP Foundation, Dr. Syed Zulkarnain Syed Idrus, and representative of TOM C, Norhayati Omar.
Under the agreement, the UniMAP Foundation will be the coach of the Strategic Management Decision Tools Workshop which will be marketed by TOM C (M) Sdn. Bhd.

Kangar, March 17 - Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) had launched an addition to the UniMAP logo, now bearing the Universiti Malaysia Perlis wording besides the original logo. The launch was completed during the Seri Gemilang Putra UniMAP 2016 Award Ceremony at Putra Regency Hotel, here yesterday.
The launch was made in conjunction with the 10 years celebration after UniMAP was rebranded from Kolej Universiti Kejuruteraan Utara Malaysia (KUKUM) on 1st February 2007 .
According to the Vice Chancellor of UniMAP, Dato 'Prof. Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal, the launch of the new logo is also in line with its increasing use and function.
"UniMAP is now 10 years, counting from the date of its branding, thus, an additional logo will better highlight UniMAP’s corporate image in the local and international scene.
"In addition, the launch of the new logo is also expected to reduce public's confusion in associating UniMAP with other public universities," he said.
Raja Muda of Perlis, who is also UniMAP Chancellor, Tuanku Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail launched the logo. Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, who is also the Pro-Chancellor of UniMAP, Tuanku Hajjah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil had also graced the audience with her presence.
Also present were Perlis Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Azlan Man; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Universiti Malaysia Perlis, Dato 'Prof. Emeritus Ir. Dr. Zainai Haji Mohamed and former Vice Chancellor of UniMAP, Datuk Prof. Emeritus Dr Kamarudin Hussin.
Meanwhile, a UniMAP time capsule containing hope notes, which was kept for 10 years, was also opened at the 2016 ASG in order to reminiscince on the hopes that were written ten years ago.
The hope written by UniMAP Chancellor wishes that all missions and visions of the university will be successfully achieved.
UniMAP Pro Canselor also hoped that luck will always be with UniMAP in its jourey to strive for excellence.
Dr. Kamarudin’s note is a prayer that UniMAP will be a famous university worldwide.
For the record, over 2000 students and staff produced the notes that are included in the time capsule at the UniMAP campus in Kubang Gajah on the midnight on 1st February, 2007.
